Visiting undergraduate student (internship)

Keio University is providing an opportunity for short-term internship experience for undergraduate-level international students. Hori group is currently accepting applications for undergraduate visiting students who are interested in having academic research experience in our lab at Keio University. Visiting students are expected to collaboratively engage in research with graduate students. Please see university’s website for the details of eligibility and available support for your visit.

  • Visiting students are eligible to apply for Keio university dormitories during their visit.
  • Visiting students are not compensated (no salary/stipend).
  • The length of the initial appointment is up to 6 months (extension is negotiable). Visiting student must be an undergraduate student of a university/educational institution (e.g. Grands Ecoles) during the whole period of his/her visit.

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • A brief statement of your academic interests (< 800 words). Please indicate if you have particular interest or study experinece in any of the following fields:
    • Synthetic biology (experiments in biology lab and/or computational modeling of biomolecular reactions)
    • Microfluidic device fabrication and applications
    • Feedback control theory and mathematical optimization
